We asked our gorgeous queer coven to send us thoughts and images to contribute to this group project. With two glue sticks, a wicked playlist, and 8 hours at my dining table Ms.O and Heart put together this fun collection of art, photos, poems, prose and quotes about being Too Much. Our House of Heart events are about embracing our too muchness in all the ways that feel good, our goal was to bring that energy to this project.
Women and femmes are often told we’re “too much”… even more so if you happen to be queer, fat, disabled, black, indigenous, gender non-conforming, or any particular thing that makes you stand out. In spite of this many of us have found our power and our greatest joys in our “too muchness”.
This collection explores the ways we’re too much… how it serves us, how other people have reacted to it, how it affects our place in the world, our experience of other people’s too muchness. Who the fuck decided how much was TOO anyhow?
